Through The Valleys

(A Poem dedicated to all who have grieved - inspired by Footprints)

I dreamed I walked a shadowed land,
Through valleys deep and mountains grand.
The path was dark, my soul in fear,
Grief and loss were walking near.

At times I saw two paths abide,
The Lord’s with mine, side by side.
Yet in the nights when hope was gone,
I found one trail and still pressed on.

I wept, “O Lord, how can this be?
When death’s cold shadow covers me-
Why leave me here when all is gone,
Through endless nights before the dawn?

He said, “O' My child, I guided you,
Beside still waters, pastures new.
When you saw just one path there,
I carried you through dark despair.”
